Although some insects might be considered pests, an even greater number are essential to our food supply and the environment. This conference will address all of the recent buzz on pollinators and seminar topics include: 1) Learn the truth: what research has to say about bee decline 2) Using natives and non-natives in garden design for pollinators 3) Strategies to reduce risk to pollinators when using pesticides and 4) Understanding consumer perceptions about pollinators for more effective marketing. The Landscaping for Pollinator Conference is geared to Green Industry members, but open to anyone with an interest. This conference will assist landscapers in ensuring their business is at the forefront of educating clients and consumers about all these important issues, while learning to design pollinator-friendly landscapes.
