Pruning is an important cultural practice for maintaining the health, vigor and appearance of woody plants. It involves both art and science – art, in shaping plants to enhance the landscape, and science, in knowing how, when, where and why to prune for maximum benefit.
MSU Extension Sr. Educator, Rebecca Finneran and Dan Davis, the Grand Ideas Garden (GIG) Coordinator will help you master the science of pruning through instruction on pruning best practices and the correct equipment to use followed by hands-on application of what you have learned. A certified arborist from Woodland Tree Services will also join the class in an outside demonstration of correct (and safe) tree trimming practices.
Space is limited so register today and gain the knowledge and confidence you will need when you head into your garden this spring to prune!
