The Ada Kids’ Garden is a spring, summer, and fall program for ages 9-12. Participants will learn about vegetable gardening, healthy lifestyles, business, and service by planting, maintaining, and harvesting the Garden located near The Community Church. Three 8-week sessions will be offered in which youth may sign up for one or more sessions or for the entire gardening season. Through a partnership with the MSU County Extension, there is also an opportunity to obtain a 4-H Junior Master Gardener certification by attending nine selected dates throughout the entire season. Download the Ada Village Kids' Garden Registration Packet (attached) or contact Ada Parks Director, Mark Fitzpatrick, 616-676-0520 for more details.
Junior Master Gardener (JMG) certification: The 4-H Certification is merged into the entire gardening season, April 19 to October 11. To receive the JMG certification, youth must attend the following dates: 4/19, 5/3, 5/31, 6/7, 6/21, 7/19, 8/30, 9/20 and 10/4. JMG youth may attend additional Kids’ Garden program dates for a $5/day fee.
