Interviewing Skills:

Do you screen potential adult and youth volunteers? If so, this is the workshop for you! The interview process is a crucial part of screening volunteers and during this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a great, hands-on workshop focused on fine-tuning your skills for interviewing volunteers. This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to learn how to:

  • Conduct effective volunteer interviews
  • Identify “red flags”
  • Discuss common interview challenges
  • Ask appropriate interview questions
  • Get to know your volunteer
  • Discover what expectations the volunteer has for their experience

Now is your time to learn more about interviews and practice asking those important questions.

Say What? Communicating with Tact and Professionalism:

Do tough conversations make you squirm? Do you say the first thing that comes to mind instead of thinking about how others may receive that message? Avoid some of those awkward situations by communicating with tact and professionalism. Learn techniques to demonstrate your thoughtfulness, build credibility, preserve relationships and grow your programs.  This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to learn how to:

  • Understand what is meant by communicating with tact and professionalism.
  • Learn to provide critical feedback while considering other people’s feelings.
  • Discover ways to find common ground.
  • Discover ways to remain calm under pressure.
  • Reframe ideas and feedback to help volunteers hear the message not just the words.
  • Discover new ways to say what you mean and mean what you say.
