The staff of Michigan State University Extension will be hosting a workshop for adults working with young children about teaching science to young children. The workshop is open to afterschool providers, early childhood providers, teachers, 4-H volunteers and any adult working with young children.
Participants in the workshop will learn how to encourage children who are curious, excited, interested in exploring, and eager to try new things through hands-on activities specifically for the 0-8 age group. Participants will get a better understanding of how to develop problem solvers and critical thinkers and how to incorporate the process of science exploration into all of their activities with young children. Participants in this workshop will walk away with 16 hands-on activities that they can take and implement with the young children they work with.
This session will include hands-on activities and time for questions and answers from MSU Extension staff. Participants who attend and actively participate will receive a certificate of completion after the workshop. The cost for this workshop is FREE.
