Host Family Orientation - Summer 2013 Japan/Michigan 4-H International Exchange

The host family orientation webinar is designed to help families prepare for their upcoming hosting experiences.  The webinar will be hosted by MSU Extension Educator Brian Wibby and will include discussion of Japanese culture, preparing for the “host family experience”, and ways to avoid potential hosting “pitfalls.”  The webinar will include time for questions and answers and for experienced host families to share their tips and advice with first-time host families.

At a minimum, the host parent(s) and primary host sibling must participate one orientation session, but your whole family is welcome to participate. 

Orientation #1 – Wednesday – May 29  (11:30 am – 1:00 pm)
Orientation #2 – Thursday – May 30 (6:30 – 8:00 pm)
Orientation #3 – Thursday – June 13 (11:00  am– 12:30 pm)
Orientation #4 – Tuesday  – June 25 (6:30 – 8:00 pm)

Host families will participate in an orientation session via a live webinar and conference call.  Host families can participate in the orientation from any location where they will have access to the internet and a phone.  Instructions for accessing the webinar/conference will be provided after you complete your registration, or by contacting Brian Wibby.
