Buying a house is a huge investment – most likely it is the largest single transaction you will ever make. The last thing you want is to get saddled with surprise costs, a mortgage you cannot afford, or find problems with your new house that could have been found earlier with a proper home inspection. With Homebuyer Education, you will come into your housing search with valuable information about the process that will help you navigate the technicalities and avoid falling into a money pit.

You will learn:

  • Why good credit is important

  • How to determine how much house you can afford

  • Who is on your home buying team

  • Mortgage loan basics

  • How to maintain your investment

This three-part series will take place on Saturday, April 2 to 16, 2016  from 12 - 2 p.m. at Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library, 500 Market Street, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
