Buying a house is a huge investment – most likely it is the largest single transaction you will ever make. The last thing you want is to get saddled with surprise costs, a mortgage you cannot afford, or find problems with your new house that could have been found earlier with a proper home inspection. With Homebuyer Education, you will come into your housing search with valuable information about the process that will help you navigate the technicalities and avoid falling into a money pit.

You will learn:

  • The advantages of homeownership
  • Steps in the home buying process
  • The costs of homeownership
  • Why good credit is important
  • How to determine how much house you can afford
  • Who is on your home buying team
  • Mortgage loan basics
  • How to maintain your investment

The seminar will take place on August 25, 2015 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the MSU Extension office, 705 North Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Classes are free and open to the public. Register is required by calling (734) 222-9595.
