Healthy Harvest This 4 week series is held at DeVries Nature Conservancy located at 2635 N. M-52, Owosso, MI 48867. These classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 5-6:30 p.m. starting October 1, 2015. Please contact Candy at 989-743-2252 if you have questions or are interested in participating. Healthy Harvest is a nutrition program where participants learn the benefits of eating healthy fruits and vegetables along with physical activity as a part of their lifestyle. This program consists of four lessons, lasting approximately one and a half hours. Healthy Harvest promotes health and can help to reduce the risk of obesity and chronic disease. Lessons include: • Enjoying healthy food that taste great • Quick, healthy meals and snacks • Eating healthy on a budget • Tips for losing weight and keeping it off • Making healthy eating part of your lifestyle • Physical activity: Key to living well • Taste testing Class series are taught throughout the community, including but not limited to community centers, churches, schools and local MSU Extension offices. Group series are available if there are six to 15 people, and at least half of the group is Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligible.
