Scouting for hop pests is critical to environmental and economic sustainability. Michigan State University Extension will be hosting four, free hop scouting demonstrations for current hop growers. These hands-on workshops will include a review of the major pests of hop as well as how to scout for and identify them. We will also discuss plant health management.

Growers are encouraged to bring unknown plant and insect samples for diagnosis. Please place samples in sealed bags as a courtesy to our host farms. These meetings will be held outside rain or shine, so dress accordingly and plan for inclement weather. Registration is required but the program is free. Restricted use pesticides will be available.
