Michigan State University (MSU) will be offering a four-hour educational workshop covering two timely topics specifically for greenhouse growers in east-Michigan on February 26, 2014 at the Tollgate Conference Center in Novi, Mich.
This FREE workshop will have two speakers:
- Dr. Mary Hausbeck, Plant Pathologist from MSU, will be giving an update on impatiens downy mildew from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. She will be presenting the latest most complete research findings from her work on greenhouse fungicide trials, phytotoxicity studies, growth chamber trials and outdoor landscape bed trials on the disease.
- Dr. Dave Smitley, Entomologist from MSU, will be talking about controlling thrips using only biologicals from 10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. This is becoming an increasing topic of interest as we continue to have more insecticides developing resistance amongst thrips in greenhouses here in Michigan as well as other parts of the world.
The workshop includes breakfast from 8 - 8:30 a.m., as well as snacks and beverages at the 10:30 a.m. break.
Please RSVP to Kristin Getter at email@example.com or 517-355-5191 x1341 by February 21st. Please include your name and how many will be attending in your message.
