Get Gardening! A Smart Gardening Series at the Iron County Libraries

Programs are free to the public and open to anyone interested in gardening. Information will be available for beginning to advanced gardeners. Each session includes a hands-on learning activity with a take home garden project. Michigan State University Extension's Smart Gardening educational material will also be available. Smart Gardening focuses on earth friendly science-based techniques that home gardeners can implement in their own lawns and gardens.
All sessions run from 10-11 a.m. CST and alternate locations between the West Iron District Library (116 W. Genesee St., Iron River, MI 49935) and the Crystal Falls District Community Library (237 Superior Avenue, Crystal Falls, MI 49920).
- February 21 (West Iron District Library): Seed selection, starting and growing vegetables.
- March 21 (Crystal Falls District Community Library): Tomatoes.
- April 25 (West Iron District Library): Creative Gardening with Containers.
- May 9 (Crystal Falls District Community Library): Mix it up! Vegetables and flowers - using edibles that look nice.
