Entrepreneurial Farm Tour to Northeast Michigan

A two day entrepreneurial farm tour to northeast Michigan (lower peninsula)in the Alpena area will take place on September 17 & 18, 2013 to showcase farm families who have successfully explored and seized opportunities to enhance the profitability of their operations.
The tour will highlight a hydroponic greenhouse, pastured beef & poultry, fruit production, hoop houses, CSA’s, farm markets, agri-entertainment, incubator kitchen, gluten free food production/processing, lumber mill, maple syrup, cider mill, organic, small diversified operations, lime quarry, cranberry production and much more. The tour is partially funded by North Central SARE, Herbrucks Poultry Ranch and other sponsors.
The fee for participants is $125 for the full two days and includes lodging and meals. One day fees without lodging is $50. Multiple family members are encouraged to attend.
Participants will meet the bus at the Park & Ride west of US-127 on M46 just north of Alma. The bus will leave Alma, Michigan at 7:30 a.m. on September 17 and return to Alma at about 9:00 p.m. on September 18. Additional pickup points can be arranged.
