Individuals with ideas to expand or start a small business are invited to participant in the NxLevel - Tilling the Soil of Opportunity program conducted by MSU Extension. This program will guide you through the process of building your own business plan. Farmers, small business owners or potential small business owners who want to add value, start a new enterprise or expand what you are already doing, take note of this exciting in-depth training to help you be successful with your venture.
Tilling the Soil of Opportunity will be held in Ithaca, MI at the RESD located at 1131 East Center Street. This 5-week program series will be meeting from 6-9 p.m. every Monday & Thursday evenings starting Feb. 20, 2014. Tilling the Soil of Opportunity guides individuals through the process of developing viable business plans for their ventures.
Participants will learn how to take stock of their resources, gain knowledge about the legal terrain and develop skills in management, marketing and financial analysis. The program uses a proven curriculum developed by the University of Colorado that has already trained 300,000 individuals in the U.S. since 1994. In Gratiot County, over 175 individuals have participated in this or other similar in-depth business planning programs. THe program allows you to test drive your ideas on paper and receive critical reviews from a team of resource people before making major investments.
The instructors and resource people will be MSU specialists and agents, as well as local businessmen and professionals including bankers, attorneys, CPA’s, business consultants and other successful entrepreneurs.
