The Food Garden Tour is an annual event where participants travel by bus or bike to a variety of food gardens in Flint and the surrounding areas. The Food Garden Tour is a celebration of innovative and inspiring food gardens in the Flint area. There is a $10.00 cost for the event which includes the tour, refreshments and entertainment.
You can participate by registering to participate either as a bus or bike rider. The bus tour involves moderate physical activity including boarding and deboarding a bus and walking short distances from the bus to each garden site. Each route will have approximately five stops.
This year there will be no pre-selection for Bus Routes. Routes will be assigned at the Food Garden Tour Check-In on a first-come, first-served basis. Information will be available on the day of the tour.
The bicycle tour will be approximately seven miles long with five stops during the ride. Water will be provided at stops and there are bathroom facilities for participants. Bicycle riders will need to supply their own bicycle for the tour. We are not able to supply bicycles.
This is a rain or shine event and a smoke-free environment.
If you are registering a group of people, each person will need a separate registration. You can pay for a group with one check—but please note the participants who are included—or via credit card by contacting MSU ANR Event Services at 517-353-3175.
Before the tour, beginning at 3 p.m., we welcome everyone to join us for the Pre-Tour Community Partner demonstrations and exhibits. This will feature information sharing and opportunities to learn more about our allies in the community.
