The Food Garden Tour is an annual event where participants travel by bus or bike to a variety of food gardens in Flint and the surrounding areas. The Food Garden Tour is a celebration of innovative and inspiring food gardens in the Flint area. There is a $5.00 cost for the event which includes the tour, refreshments and entertainment.
You can participate by registering to participate either as a bus rider or as a bike rider. The bus tour involves moderate physical activity including boarding and deboarding a bus and walking short distances from the bus to each garden site. Each route will have approximately 5 stops.
The bicycle tour will be approximately 7 miles long with 5 stops during the ride. Water will be provided at stops and there is bathroom facilities for participants.
During registration, you will also have the option to choose either the East or the West route. The featured gardens for both routes are being selected and routes are being created to insure access for busses. While each route will feature different gardens, we are working hard to find a diverse group of inspiring and innovative gardens. Routes are subject to change and preference will be accommodated as much as possible. We do not guarantee that you will be on the route you indicate as a preference.
This is a rain or shine event and a smoke-free environment.
If you are registering a group of people, each person will need a separate registration. You can pay for a group with one check—but please note participants are included—or via credit card by contacting MSU ANR Event Services at 517-353-3175.
