Dining with Diabetes

Dining with Diabetes is a four week workshop. This workshop which normally consists of an hour of educational topics along with an hour food demo is being piloted over the lunch hour to better meet the needs of working adults. Each hour session consists of an educational topic as well as taste testing healthy diabetic recipes. Educational topics include tools for managing diabetes and the importance of a healthy diet and physical activity. Nutrition topics include preparing meals with less fat and how to make meals with less sodium and sugar without reducing the flavor and enjoyment. Participants receive a workbook with resource information and recipes. Registration is through the St. Joseph Co. MSU Extension office. The registration fee is $25 a person or $40 for couples. Scholarships are available.
