The need to have bedding plants in flower, on a predetermined date, has become a near necessity for large-scale commercial growers. Accomplishing this is a challenge due in part to changes in climate and the continual introduction of new cultivars. Join Dr. Runkle during this two-hour program to understand what factors influence flowering time, including temperature, lighting and PGRs. Learn what you can control—and what you cannot. What are your options if plugs arrive 2 weeks late? What can you do if plants are ready to ship but you can’t ship them? Dr. Runkle will also show how different computer programs using MSU research results, such as FlowersOnTime, can be used to help schedule your crops on time.
This meeting is FREE! But it does require an RSVP by January 30, 2015 to Tom Dudek at 616-994-4542 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
