Michigan State University Extension will be offering a pesticide manual review session for mid-Michigan farmers. This review will take place in Tuscola County on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Tuscola County Technology Center from 9 am until Noon. This review is intended to help prepare participants for the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) pesticide applicator certification exams. Attendance to the review session is optional and not required to take the MDARD exam. The review covers the National Pesticide Applicators Certification Core Manual. Three recertification/RUP credits in either Private or Commercial Core are also available for those already certified and seeking renewal by seminar credits. We recommend participants read and study the core manual before attending the review. To register for this free review session in Tuscola County, please call (989) 269-9949. The regular MDARD certification exam will be held starting at 1 p.m.. If you plan to take the MDARD exam , be prepared to pay by check (no cash or credit cards will be accepted) made payable to the State of Michigan. The fee for 'private" applicators is $50 and the fee for "commercial" applicators is $75. To reserve your spot to take an exam, you can either go online to or call 800-292-3939.
