Five Modules, Two Hours Each (Saturdays and Sundays)

  • March 22, 2014 (2:30 - 4:30 p.m.)

In this training, you will take part in many hands-on activities to help you improve your skills at planning and preparing tasty, healthy, low-cost meals for the children in your care. You will also learn how to work with children both in and out of the kitchen to support healthy eating habits.

Module One: Creating Positive Mealtime Attitudes

Module Two: Safe Cooking with Confidence

Module Three: Choosing Healthy Foods for Kids

Module Four: Meals that Appeal to Kids

Module Five: Menu Management on a Budget Class is taught by a MSUE Nutrition Program Instructor and Chef/Cook

You will take part in hands on cooking demonstration and many activities part of the class Incentives and a Cook Book are given part of enrollment and graduation of the course of five modules. Earn 10 hours of Education Credit for Child Care Providers **50 percent of the group must be SNAP or SNAP eligible adults**
