Cooking Matters for Parents is a free nutrition and cooking class designed for those who are involved in parenting (kids, grandkids, foster kids) to come and learn healthy nutrition and cooking practices. Each week recipes are prepared by participants in class with the help of an experienced cook and the nutrition instructor and then groceries are taken home for them to practice one of the recipes prepared in class. Designed to help families learn to stretch food dollars to provide nutritious meals for their families, this class includes special nutritional helps for those raising children and teens. There are 7 classes scheduled with no class August 31. Classes take the full 2 hours and each recipient receives a participant notebook with many recipes included. A certificate is awarded on completion of the series of lessons. Please call by August 1 to register for the classes. If you have a need requiring special accommodation, please call as soon as possible so that we can accommodate that need.
