Cooking Matters for Families is a FREE six week nutrition program where participants will learn how to eat healthy meals and snacks, grocery shop on a limited budget and make healthy and budget friendly meals. The program consists of six lessons, lasting approximately two hours each. With the help of an experienced chef and nutrition educator, participants will gain the skills and confidence to make healthy, budget friendly recipes.

Each week, participants receive take home groceries they can use at home to practice a recipe they learned in class. This class series also includes:

  • Participatory food preparation that provides cooking and food safety instructions
  • Engaging nutrition activities and discussions
  • Recipe book for use at home
  • Certificate of completion

Participants may be parents, grandparents or guardians and their children, youth ages 9 to 17. Open to all families.
