Cooking Matters for Child Care Professionals teaches both home- and center-based ECE professionals about healthy meal preparation and creating a positive food environment for the children in their care.  This hands-on, discussion-based training covers topics such as choosing healthy foods that appeal to children, encouraging positive mealtime attitudes, safe cooking with confidence, and menu management on a budget. You will engage in cooking and preparing nutritious meals that meet the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. 

The training is free of cost.  You will receive a manual highlighting the information covered in the course and a variety of recipes.  You will also receive 10 hours of training credit approved for the star rating system, if all sessions are attended.  

For safety reasons, no children are permitted at the training. Lunch and snacks will be prepared and provided as part of the training.
