Cooking Matters for Child Care Professionals is a nutrition program that teaches child care professionals cooking, food safety, and food budgeting. The program is intended to empower providers to deliver nutritious meals and snacks by teaching healthy eating habits to the children in their care. Topics include creating positive mealtime attitudes, safe cooking with confidence, choosing healthy foods for kids, meals that appeal to kids, and menu management on a budget. This is a two-part training for a total of 10 hours of training. It is expected that the participant will attend both days July 30, 2016, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug. 6, 2016, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. of training.
