Clean Boats, Clean Waters Training

Date: July 28, 2012
Time: 9:00 AM through 12:00 PM (Noon)

Aquatic invasive species are hitching rides on recreational watercraft and are rapidly spreading throughout Michigan inland waters. One approach to this issue is to have volunteers stationed at boat launches inspecting watercraft and communicating with boaters the importance of cleaning off their equipment every time they leave the water.

The training is free and offered to anyone who is interested in forming a Clean Boats, Clean Waters team at their local boat launch.

All of the tools will be provided to start your own program, including t-shirts, aluminum signage for your launch, a Clean Boats, Clean Waters program booklet, and a resource kit filled with watch cards, stickers for wench-posts, key chains, and much more. The training will be part of a larger event, Clean Waters for the Prairie River Watershed Workshop & Tour hosted by the Branch Conservation District.
