Global Education and Diversity Event

The annual Chinese holiday marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. Each year it is represented by a zodiac animal on the lunar-solar Chinese calendar. Chinese citizens are readying to welcome 2018 as the Year of the Dog. The Spring Festival in China is celebrated for several months as a time to gather with family and hope for good fortune in the upcoming year.

Youth will learn about this event while experiencing a combination of regional traditions — the northern Chinese tradition of eating dumplings and a southern Chinese dragon and lion dances and will end with the making of Chinese Lanterns.

Cost: $5.00 if online, $7.00 at the door
Youth aged 5-12

The deadline to register is Feb. 9.  Chinese snack foods included.
