Creative funding partnerships are key to Michigan State University Extension’s success. Yet sometimes negotiating Extension’s role and marketing Extension’s capacity can be a hard task, especially with limited time. The Extension Health Research team has developed a training called “Are You Partnership Ready?” The goal of this unique training opportunity is to increase an Extension educator’s confidence and readiness in engaging with researchers.
The “Are You Partnership Ready?” skill-building workshop is an excellent preparation for Extension educators who are contacted by researchers who want to involve them in projects and grants. Likewise, this workshop will help to prepare educators and teams across all institutes to approach researchers. Discussions and activities will punctuate the content containing helpful reminders about the new grants KC system, IRB and other useful tips for navigating the research process.
Workshop presenters will help educators begin to align research projects with Extension priorities, possibly using shelf-ready programs for long-term evaluation plans beyond the pre- and post-questionnaires.
