4-H State Awards - Totally Redesigned for 2014

If you have never thought about applying for 4-H State Awards before, you should really think about it this year. The state award process has undergone dramatic changes this year and we are hosting a workshop to help you sort through the process. Oakland County 4-H has had a strong tradition of State Awardees and we want it to continue.

Notable changes for 2014 include:

1. 17 categories that State Awards can be applied for are as follows:

  • Plant Science
  • Consumer and Family Science
  • Biological Sciences
  • Technology and Engineering
  • Environmental and Earth Sciences
  • Livestock Sciences
  • Dairy Cattle Science
  • Equine Science
  • Companion Animals Sciences
  • Goat Science
  • Birds and Poultry Science
  • Rabbits and Cavies Sciences
  • Civic Engagement
  • Leadership and Personal Development
  • Communications and Expressive Arts
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Group Award

 2. The application will be completed and submitted electronically

 3. Youth age 13-19 may apply for State Awards, however this year it will be split in to 2 divisions: 13-15 years old (juniors) and 16-19 years old (seniors).
