Explore the exciting world of science while enjoying a game of baseball at the 2014 4-H Science Day with the Lansing Lugnuts! Held on Saturday, April 26th, the event provides an opportunity for Michigan youth to discover with hands-on learning activities that illustrate how science intersects with everyday life – including a day at the ballpark. Attendees will learn the science behind stadium staples while enjoying more than 10 science stations set up throughout the stadium concourse. The day’s festivities will also include 4-H groups leading the 4-H pledge and singing both the national anthem and “God Bless America” before the Lugnuts face off against the Bowling Green Hot Rods at 2:05 p.m.
Here are just a few things that will be happening that day:
- Learn the science of pitching from the Lugnuts coaching staff and players.
- See how science pops up in everything at the ballpark from the field to food!
- Free inflatable games until 12:50 p.m.
- 4-H science experiments on the concourse throughout the day.
Gates for the game open at noon, with the first pitch at 2:05 p.m. 4-H Science Day is a public event for both 4-H and non-4-H participants. Tickets are available until April 18 for $10 each. Children age 2 and under are free. Clubs and counties interested in attending should purchase all tickets at once to obtain seats together. Tickets can be ordered online by selecting the 4-H icon at www.lansinglugnuts.com, downloading and printing the promotional flyer and mailing it in, or by contacting Adam Paschen at 517-827-2486.
