We will start our adventure at the Michigan DNR’s outdoor adventure center, a new nature center that brings up north, to downtown Detroit. The center has many interactive features including ATV/Snow Machine Simulators, kayak and fishing simulators, a multi story waterfall complete with wildlife taxidermy and much more. After lunch, we will walk down the Dequindre cut, an old railway that has been turned into a walking and biking path. The Detroit Institute of Arts has added replicas of famous works of art to the pathway to give walkers a spot to stop and enjoy their art. Also, street artists have created wonderful displays along old bridges and cement walls for enjoyment along the path. Our journey leads us to the famous Eastern Market, one of the best experience sin all of Detroit. The 125-year-old market has great food, music and culture. Eastern market is destination that all Metro Detroit residents must visit several times to get the full experience. Groups led by chaperones will have free time to shop around for fresh vegetables, grab a bite from a delicious food truck, or buy a gift for a friend in the market. The group will walk back down the Dequindre cut to our transportation to return back home.
