4-H Health and Food Science Camp

The Michigan 4-H Health and Food Science Camp is a one day program held at Michigan State University (MSU) supported by the MI 4-H Youth Development. Youth will explore fields relating to health as well as participate in numerous hands-on learning activities. Participants will also gain knowledge on nutrition, physical fitness and personal safety while having the opportunity to visit and explore MSU. During the camp, youth will work in teams to develop a plan to address health issues in their community. This is a fun and interactive camp that will allow youth to examine situations, ask questions and problem-solve. Additionally, this camp will help youth explore various health related career fields while also reflecting on their experiences and communities.
Where and When:
The 4-H Health and Food Science Camp begins with check-in at 8:30 am Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 ends 5:30 pm. The camp will take place on campus with visits to many different facilities and much more!
The camp agenda will be mailed to camp attendees and with additional information if selected for the camp.
Who Should Attend:
Michigan 4-H Health and Food Science Camp is for youth (13 to 19 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2016) who are interested in exploring health, food science, nutrition, physical fitness, and personal safety related activities.
The registration fee includes lunch, t-shirt and camp materials. The cost per youth is $35.
- Payment is due by July 1, 2016.
Once the selection process is completed by the 4-H staff, the cancellation policy for all participants is:
- No refunds will be given after July 15, 2016.
Space is limited! Up to 40 youth will be admitted! Selection is based on:
- Youth meeting correct age requirement
- Fully completed application with all signatures
- Responses to short-answer questions
