LIVESTOCK DOLLARS & CENTS - Sienna Suszek, Alpena County MSU Extension Educator

Deciding to raise a 4-H animal is exciting!  It can also be bewildering figuring out what it will cost.  In this hands-on activity you will learn a clever way to teach your club members how to calculate ahead of time what they will spend and how they might improve their project profit margin.

BACK SEAT DRIVING: LETTING YOUTH TAKE THE STEERING WHEEL - Sara Keinath, Wexford County MSU Extension Educator

This session helps adults understand the need for young people to be involved in making decisions about the programs that affect them and to understand that young people have significant contributions to make to the current program and to future endeavors. Be an agent of change! Engage youth as partners rather than recipients of programs!

BE THE E Entrepreneurship National 4-H Curriculum - Sara Keinath, Wexford County MSU Extension Educator

Young people like the idea of owning their own businesses – with the feelings of hope, independence and, of course, being in charge, that often go along with business ownership. Problem is, they often don’t know what it actually takes to become an entrepreneur.  A national 4-H curriculum called Be the “E” Entrepreneurship is an exciting way for young people in grades 7 to 12 to learn if they have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
