4-H Jr. Master Gardener Program

The program will teach 3-5 graders about gardening and community service.  There are 6 after-school sessions with local tours offered.

To become a certified “Junior Master Gardener”, students must attend a minimum of six educational classroom sessions and complete 10 volunteer hours in the community by helping family, friends, and neighbors. Upon completion of the program students will receive Jr. Master Gardener certification.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Soil, water & composting
  • Plant science
  • Food preservation
  • Insects
  • Perennials & annuals
  • Field trip

Space is limited to 20 participants. Registration is $20 and due by April 1, 2013. After April 1, registration is $30. No registrations accepted after April 5.
