4-H Green Science Adventure Camp

Date: July 9, 2012 - July 13, 2012
Location: MSU Tollgate Education Center, 28115 Meadowbrook Road, Novi, Mich.

The 4-H Green Science Adventure Camp will offer young people ages 5-10 the opportunity to experience science outdoors in an interactive, experiential setting. Weather-permitting, campers will spend a majority of their week outdoors. Camp hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Aftercare will be available at an additional cost.

What is green science you ask? It’s the use of science in our daily lives. Ever wonder how milk from a cow becomes ice cream? Where salsa from the grocery store gets its start? Why is the syrup in your pancakes so sweet? How does your Halloween Jack O’ Lantern get so big? Why does grass grow in your yard but not in the forest? Are worms really the best fish bait?

Participants explore these questions and more while inquiring about the world around them. Educational activities are led by trained staff and certified teachers and are aligned with the state grade level content expectations. Participants experience science and take charge of their learning hands on, (and they won’t even realize it).

To register your scientist for the 4-H Green Science Adventure Camp, please visit the registration page. Cost for attending the week is $210. Limited scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis and based on financial need. Aftercare is available from 4-6 p.m. for $5.00 per hour. The last day to register online for this event is July 13, 2012
