Each year, the Clare County 4-H Program organizes 4-H Cloverbud classes. These classes are open to any youth who are enrolled as a Clare County 4-H Cloverbud member and have filled out a 4-H Cloverbud Entry form by June 30th. These classes are non-competitive and no premiums are given. The classes are designed for youth age 5 to 8 years old in the 4-H Program that want the experience of showing, but not in a competitive environment.
Youth have adult/teen supervision while exhibiting or handling their animal project(s). Animals are either raised by the youth participant and housed all week at the fair or borrowed from a sibling or other youth already participating at fair. Participants begin at the Small Animal tent for introductions and instructions. They then proceed to show in the Horse arena. They next move to the Small Animal area, and then end up in the Livestock arena. At that time, all 4-H Cloverbuds participating are recognized in a special way.
