The fisheries workshop offers current research and information related to the status of the Lake St. Clair fishery.
Michigan Sea Grant and Michigan State University Extension, in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Division, will be hosting an evening regional workshop dedicated to Lake St. Clair.
The workshop is open to the public, and will provide valuable information for anglers, charter captains, resource professionals, and other community members interested in attending.
The workshop will include four talks:
A Lake St. Clair Fishery Status Update by Todd Wills, Fisheries Research Biologist from the Lake St. Clair Fisheries Station.
Jason Smith (Michigan State University) will present his age-structured model that allows investigation into possible changes in the LSC muskie fishery.
Supervisor Sean Reynolds from the U.S. Border Patrol will speak on crossing the U.S. - Canada border for recreation and what boaters need to know.
Restoring Spawning Habitat for Sturgeon and Native Fish - Justin Selden in collaboration with the Reef Restoration Team.
This workshop is offered at no cost to participants, however, pre-registration is requested and walk-in participants are always welcome.
