The State of Michigan passed legislation authorizing the 2012 Michigan Agriculture Disaster Loan Program this past summer.
Agricultural producers and processors that suffered significant production losses and meet other eligibility criteria have the opportunity to apply for a low-interest loan (1 percent) with a repayment period of five years.
The USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) also has disaster loan program as well as Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Programs (NAP). Farm Storage Facility loans and other programs will be discussed. Learn about requirements for low interest loans and FSA programs at this Nov. 8 educational meeting. Staff from the Farm Service Agency, GreenStone Farm Credit Services, and MSU Extension will be the resource people. There is no charge for this meeting.
