Upcoming Events:

4-H Tractor Safety Program; Wednesdays, April 4, 11, 18, 25 from 6-8:30pm and a written and driving test on Saturday, May 5th from 8:30am - 2:30pm, held at the NW MI Horticultural Research Center, between Suttons Bay and Traverse City; $85 per youth (includes a $20 4-H participation fee, classes, manual, certificate and lunch on test day).  Some scholarships are available if finaces are an issue.   Read the Tractor Safety flyer for more details and how to register.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 20. 4-H Winter Fun DaySaturday, February 3, 2018; 10:30am to 1:00pm, at the 4-H Johnson Preserve (Behind the Strongheart Center in Peshawbestown.  Meet in the center parking lot off McKeese Road.) The 4-H Outdoors Club would like to introduce community emmbers of all ages to the wonders of the 4-H Johnson Preserve, and encourage outdoor adventure activities.  Free event, and all ages of kids welcome.  Snowshoeing, campfire, animal tracking and more.  Hot dogs, veggies, and marshmallows for roasting are provided.  Bring your snowshoes (limited # to borrow) and a water bottle.  Please RSVP by Thursday, February 1st by calling the 4-H office at 231-256-9888, or email Rosali Collier, Leelanau 4-H Program Coordinator at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

How to Join 4-H:

4-H provides fun, educational opportunities through 4-H clubs, afterschool programs and local, state, national and international events for youth ages 5-19. The participation fee is $20 per year, per youth or $60 per family with three or more youth. 



Become a 4-H Volunteer!

Our Leelanau County 4-H volunteers are wonderful! The youth of Leelanau County grow through the great variety of experiences 4-H volunteers provide throughout the county. Our volunteers promote growth in responsibility, confidence and civic engagement, as they encourage young people to explore their interests in hands-on ways and become empowered leaders.
