Mark Your Calendar! Day Camp: July 10-11, 2017 and Overnight Camp: July 12-15, 2017
4-H offers a day camp (K-1) and an overnight (grades 2 - 6) during the second week of July at camp Lael in Lapeer County. The Lapeer County 4-H Camp offers kids the opportunity to make new friends, learn something new and ultimately have a great time. Adult staff consists of the Camp Director, who is a 4-H staff person and volunteers, who undergo a strict selection process and fill the positions of Assistant Camp Director, Health Officer, Program Leaders and Chaperones.
4-H Teen Camp Counselors are ages 13 and up. Jr. counselors, 13 and 14 years of age help with the day camp; teens 15 years and up help with the overnight camp. They all undergo a strict selection process and are required to attend counselor training sessions. They are trained in CPR/First Aid and waterfront safety. We strive to meet the guidelines of the American Camping Association to have a ratio of at least 2 teen counselors and one adult supervisor for each group of 8 campers.
Come join us at “4-H Camp” while we have fun through swimming, crafts, songs, games and special activities! All 4-H camp activities are designed for awareness and appreciation of nature and the world around us, focusing on personal development and FUN!
Please contact Jean Kreiner, 4-H Camp Director for details on this year’s camp experience.
